Family Fiesta Fun Day this weekend

Swindon Libraries and Swindon Dance are teaming up for a Family Fiesta Fun Day.

Full of fun and free activities, it will be held on Saturday 20 April between 11am and 3pm.

Swindon Dance has free taster sessions between 11am and 2pm for all ages from toddlers to adults. The sessions include Bharatnatyum, Breakin' and Street Intro, Jazz Boogie, Jazz/Con Fusion, Lindy Hop, Street Jamz and Yoga. 

There will be a free performance of the Olive Branch by Vanhulle Dance Theatre between 2.15pm and 2.45pm.

From 11am–2pm, the ground floor of Central Library will have free, drop-in book themed Family Crafts - including a Family Plant and Share, flower and vegetable planting station.

The Central Library will host a Children’s Music Corner – with a variety of fun instruments to try.

There will also be a free book giveaway – with lots of exciting titles to choose from, for children and adults of all reading levels and interests.

A pop up café will be avaliable on the day, offering a variety of hot and soft drinks, cakes and snacks. 

In the Children's Area, there will be three Story Times - One Story and Rhyme Time for pre-schoolers, plus a Story Time for children aged 5-7 and another for ages 8-10. 

 All Story Times are free but places must be pre-booked (bookings will open 7 days before the event).

Older children are not forgotten, as the Teen Area on the first floor will be hosting three creative storytelling sessions.

Participants will be able to learn the basics in Create a Character Workshop with Swindon Story Shed, bring their character to life in their Manga Workshop and then put it all together into a story with Swindon Zine Fest's Zine Workshop.

This will be suitable for ages 11-16, and young people are welcome to attend one or more of the sessions.
