The police have confirmed that a man was found deceased following a search for a missing Purton resident.
Officers carried out enquiries after he was reported missing on the evening of Tuesday 23 April.
A man was discovered deceased yesterday afternoon - Wednesday 24 April - and the police announced that while formal identification had yet to take place, the family of the man has been informed.
A force spokesperson said: "Our thoughts are with them at this extremely difficult time. Formal identification will take place in due course.
"Although it is early stages, we do not believe there to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death."
