Learn how to run the right way
We can teach anyone how to run and how to run faster, but young people need to pick up the right way to run as early as possible, writes Steiner Roberts who runs the Running School for Kids in West Swindon.
Most young athletes run by instinct and although very natural, they can pick up bad habits that stay with them through the rest of their sporting career.
More importantly if they can’t run correctly it stops them from participating in sport and in many cases puts them off sport and fitness throughout their school years and into adulthood.
The Running School for Kids is available to 6 to 16 year olds and we make it fun. We look at the individual biomechanics (the way they move) and the sport that the kids are involved in. We teach them to run more effectively and to run a lot faster
Our special running programme for kids takes into account their growth, coordination, agility, size and ability.
The Running School will also provide on-going coaching and training programmes so that youngsters can enjoy their running and get fitter and faster.
The biggest thrill we get at The Running School is when we teach a young boy or girl to run effortlessly and efficiently in just a few sessions. The joy on their faces when they realise how easy it is, the confidence they discover which was not there before, that makes what we do so worthwhile and so fulfilling.
