On Wednesday 6 October celebrity George Baker who we all know as Inspector Wexford made a visit to the Wiltshire Air Ambulance to help promote a forthcoming fundraising evening to raise funds for the Appeal.

The event to be held on Thursday 14 October, 7.30pm, at Devizes Town is being organised by Pam Chivers-Trevett who was taken by the Wiltshire Air Ambulance to hospital after being involved in a road traffic accident on 5 July this year.

George Baker will be compere for the evening and popular jazz singer Christina Jackson supported on the keyboard by local man Tony Goldsmith will entertain the 100 guests. Businesses from across Wiltshire have donated financial support and auction donations towards the event and Alan Aldridge will be auctioneer for the evening and Mayor Mrs Margaret Taylor will also be attending.

Tickets at £10 are on sale at the Devizes Tourist.

The Wiltshire Air Ambulance Appeal is entirely dependent upon public support and receives no government funding nor does it qualify for a National Lottery grant. The Appeal has to raise over £320,000 annually to keep the Wiltshire Air Ambulance flying and Tracey Edwards, Fundraising Coordinator for the Appeal says, "We are extremely grateful to Pam Chivers-Trevett for organising the event and hope the event is an enormous success. We would ask anyone who would like tickets for the evening to contact the Devizes Tourist Information Centre."

If anyone would like further details about the fundraising evening or information on how to help the Wiltshire Air Ambulance Appeal please contact Tracey Edwards or Mary Laing on 01380 739 453 or email Wiltshire.airambulance@virgin.net.
