Baby love all year round
The calendar is the inspiration of Nick Belson from Swindon whose Origin Design studios in Calne regularly win national business awards for creativity. Nick chose to support FSID as he and his wife Caroline lost their own baby, Samuel, to cot death nearly 20 years ago. Baby Firsts is dedicated to Samuel's memory.
Everyone involved has given up spare time to take the project from drawing board to finished work. Illustrator, Nick Diggory, who represents 40 international illustrators, has contributed his own pictures as well as those from illustrators in Australia, the Netherlands, Argentina and the UK. Each month reflects the individual artist's interpretation of the magic of the first year of life. The images are amusing, colourful and beautifully executed with supporting text offering sensible advice to parents
"We wanted to do something a bit different for 2004 and Baby Firsts is a true original." said Nick Belson. "It's also refreshing that people are still willing to donate their time, effort and skills to a worthy cause. The result is something we can all be proud of, a great idea, beautifully illustrated and produced to a very high quality. We hope people will also support the FSID by buying it and enjoying it."

Illustrators from around the world have contributed to a charming calendar for a well-known British baby charity. Baby Firsts depicts the milestones in a baby's first year: the first step, the first toy, the first day out, the first word and so on.
