Regular police contact on offer in North Swindon
Police support officer Stuart Thomas is now available every Tuesday 9am to 11am at the North Swindon police point at the district centre to talk to callers and help with any queries. Stuart, who started in his role as Police Community Support Officer (CPSO) in mid-September covers the new areas of North Swindon - Abbey Meads, St Andrew's Ridge, Ash Brake and Priory Vale. He is responsible for monitoring anti-social behaviour, underage drinking and smoking, joy riding, bike riding on pavements and dog fouling. He can issue cautions and tickets and is in radio contact with the police control centre for back-up if necessary. "I don't have all the powers of a regular PC which means I don't have all the paperwork required to report a crime related incident," said Stuart. "This means I can spend more time walking the streets generally showing a presence and providing information where I can. My shift pattern falls between 8am and midnight, but being at the North Swindon Centre every Tuesday morning means people can be sure to get me in a central place where they can raise any issue which concerns them, or might be of interest to the police." Stuart can also be contacted via 528111 or by mailing: stuart.thomas@wiltshirepolice.com o The North Swindon Police Point is open to all residents in the North Police Sector for enquiries and presentation of documents on: Mon, Tues, Sat, Sun: 12noon to 2pm; Wed, Thurs Fri: 4pm - 6pm. |
