SwindonLink helps seal sponsorship deal for FC Abbey Meads

After appealing for financial support in the July edition of Swindon Link magazine the Priory Vale consortium of builders have generously agreed to be the main sponsor for the newly formed Under 10's team.

Club chairman Dave Mulley said that the boys were overjoyed to be able to choose the kit and will be proudly representing Priory Vale in this season's campaign in the North Wilts & District Minors League and tournaments.

Treasurer Adam Piatek conveyed a big thank you to the Priory Vale developers for their support and sponsorship and to The Link for covering the appeal for help. "Without gestures like these, ventures that benefit the local community like ours would never take off."

Secretary, Tanya Parkinson said that the team had got off to a very good start. They were unfortunate to be knocked out in the semi-finals at the Croft Tournament on 31August but won their first league game on 7 September. Lorraine Palmer of Bloor Homes, representing Priory Vale, was keen to present the new kit to the team. 'At Priory Vale we are not just building houses, but creating a whole new community with new schools and sports facilities, plus a village centre with plenty of open space for people to enjoy. That's why we're proud to support FC Abbey Meads and wish them every success for the coming season.'
