Swindon Archive News Shaw clinic puts you back into shape
Up and coming ice hockey star Shane Moore from Middleleaze is a member of so many teams that sometimes he must be confused about which squad he's playing for. But when a weekend of high speed bashing about comes to an end, there's only one place he heads for - the treatment couch at Shaw Chiropractic Clinic where Sandra Davies straightens him out again. Sixteen year old Shane is in the Swindon under 16s, 17s, and 19s teams and also the senior squad, the Innogy Lynx. At an awards ceremony on 26 April, he was voted best newcomer by the fans and presented with an engraved glass tankard. Shane's also assistant captain with the England under 16s, and plays for the under 17s and under 20s. Over Christmas the under 16s team won a major tournament against Triple A opposition in Canada, immediately followed by a silver medal spot in the European Championships in Holland. "I don't think I could keep up with the pace without regular visits to the chiropractor," said Shane. "Over the last two years I've had treatment for stresses and strains to lower and upper back and also my neck. I was also getting bad headaches after a road accident injury which was sorted out. I recommend a lot of team members who pick up injuries to see a chiropractor." Sandra said spine and muscle manipulation from a chiropractor is something everybody should consider. "Sports men and women put stresses on their body which need direct treatment to help injuries to heal quickly and also regular checks to maintain mobility so that the body can withstand the traumas imposed upon it. "But anybody of whatever age who has had an accident, or sits in an office chair all day, or is suffering the effects of an past injury should seek help. Unless the body is kept in alignment, then problems will occur in the future. By keeping the back healthy you are treating the central nervous system which maintains the immune system. Indeed there are many medical problems which can be related to strains on the spine, from recurring illnesses in adults to children who wet the bed." Shane will be taking a break from ice hockey during the summer closed season and will be working on his fitness and strength at Prime Bodies Gym who sponsor him. For any back or neck problems, call Shaw Chiropractic Clinic on 01793 887801 to arrange an appointment, including a free chiro check. |
