Get ready to party on August bank holiday Another top line-up is planned for this year's Wiltshire Festival family get-together at Lydiard Park at the end of August, with an exciting change of format to the Classical Proms Extravaganza.

Former Steps members Claire and H have come together as a duo and will be making a return to the Wiltshire Festival on Sunday 25 August, after the band's excellent show in 2000. A1 who stepped in last year with a great performance when 5ive pulled out have been rebooked due to popular demand. Also appearing are garage act Mis-Teeq, dance stars Aurora, ITV Popstars Liberty X, as well as Honeytrap, and All Stars. And to show all the youngsters how it's done, veteran crooners The Drifters will show why they're still great after 40 years on the road.

A new feature of this year's Wiltshire Festival will be exposure for performers who are just receiving recognition. Chanteuse Rebekah Del Rio will sing on the Classical evening and at the Party and new pop band the Dead Abigails will be flying in from Australia.

One of the most intriguing performers is Siana. Her dad is Rob Wasserman, bass player with the legendary Grateful Dead, and her godfather is one of the great survivors of rock Lou Reed. As a child she would accompany the deadhead caravan and play at the feet of such greats as Bob Dylan and Paul Simon. Now she's on her own and looking forward to her European debut in Swindon.

Siana said, "I came to Britain as a child with the band, but this will be my first time performing. I'm really excited to be able to debut my CD." Even though Siana grew up with the musical influences of the 60s, 70s and 80s, her style is right up there for the 21st Century. Catch a flavour at www.sianamusic.com

Wiltshire Festival promoter Eddie Sharpe said the range of acts reflects the wide musical tastes of the audience who attend the Party in the Park. "We have tried to put a bill together of top artists to please all the family."

The classical event on Friday 23 August takes on a wider appeal this year. Jae Alexander will again conduct the English National Symphony Orchestra, and the first half of the show will be a tribute to the 'Rat Pack.' Comedian Bobby Davro and friends will perform the music of Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davies Jr and Dean Martin, recently brought up to date by Robbie Williams and in the movie Oceans 11.

The traditional proms concert returns in the second half with a ninety minute golden jubilee special, including familiar and rousing renditions of the 1812 Overture, Pomp and Circumstance No. 1 and Jerusalem. Soloists this year will be bass baritone Lawrence Beaman and to end the event in traditional style, soprano Sarah Ryan.
