Dr Peter Crouch said he and partner Dr June Morris are committed to providing information and knowledge about health issues. "This internet health library will help patients educate themselves and take greater responsibility for personal health matters. As their health advocates, internet access means we can guide patients to reputable sources of in-depth information. In some cases, this reduces unnecessary stress by giving people access to medical fact sooner rather than later." Michael Wills said, "the set up is very impressive and is at the forefront of developing an open and transparent relationship between doctor and patient. I'd like to see civil servants visiting this project to learn how it can be spread to surgeries elsewhere." Only patients registered with the practice are able to use the health information facilities. The suite is also being used for training NHS staff and community sessions are planned, including general internet access and a homework club. |
