Returning to the airwaves

Swindon's well known radio personality Shirley Ludford is back on air during July as she takes the first steps in new career paths.

After 14 years at BBC Wiltshire Sound and before that Wiltshire Radio, she'll be heard during the second trial broadcast for Swindon107fm, presenting the breakfast slot from 8am to 11am on Saturday and Sunday.

She'll also be contributing to the drive time programme between 4pm and 7pm on Monday and Tuesdays, as well as using her experience to train other presenters at the station.

"This is a really exciting challenge for me," said Shirley. "It was time for a move and the opportunity to return to air with a regular programme was too good to miss. It's great to be able to help Swindon107fm prove itself worthy of a licence"

Swindon107fm is now broadcasting talk and interviews, sport, news and what's on information around a broad range of popular music and classic tracks. Specialist shows each evening will feature country & western, jazz, blues and soul.

Swindon107fm is on air until 29 July.
