From live music, battle of the bands, orchestras, singers, clubs, groups and in fact just about anyone with a passion for music, Swindon is set to put arts a the heart of its cultural activities during the oncoming 2012 Olympics period.
Four exciting projects by Swindon music groups have already swung into action and are looking for ideas and people that want to be involved;
FREQUENTLY INSWINDON
Courtesy of Frequency Magazine, inSwindon (Swindon's Town Centre Management) and BullySound, Frequently inSwindon is a monthly showcase of local music. Each month 3 or 4 featured bands will make the town centre a music sensation playing a variety of different music
The first one will be on Saturday 1st March, 12-3pm, outside Debenhams in Swindon's Town Centre with BillyJon (www.myspace.com/billyjon) , Durera (www.myspace.com/dureramusic), Talk in Code (www.myspace.com/talkincode) and the Beatbullyz (www.myspace.com/beatbullyz).
SING UP SWINDON
Artsmad and its friends and partners want to get Swindon singing. They are looking at events and projects already going on and are keen to hear any new ideas people have to get Swindon singing.
From musicians and bands, promoters, media, publicity, venues, brass bands, orchestras, studios, music organisations, service providers, recording facilities, FE colleges, schools festivals, clubs and associations, industry bodies, record labels, retail, choral societies - in fact, anyone who is interested in singing - Arsmad wants to hear from you!

SWINDON MAKING MUSIC - A SEMINAR FOR VOLUNTARY MUSIC GROUPS

FREQUENCY AIRBORNE
Starting in May, three local bands will be showcased each month live on air on the Frequency radio show (107.7 Brunel FM) from the 12 Bar, on 29th May, 27th June and the 31st July. Hear them live on the radio, see them at the 12 Bar and vote online for your favourite band to be in the final for the Frequency Airborne winner of 2008 on the 25th September 2008.
Airborne Partner Create Studios is offering a 'Complete Studio Package' as a prize; 5 days in Create's state-of-the-art Sound Studio working alongside top producer Barry Andrews, through to the production of a finished CD. The winning band will also receive a Mac Book Pro & Logic Studio software courtesy of airborne's sponsor, Western Computer, Wiltshire's only Apple Premier Reseller.
