The Wroughton Classic Car & Bike Show 2008, in association with Classic Car Weekly, have just announced that the Old Sodbury Sortout will be joining them on the Sunday of their next show.

The show will be held on the 2nd & 3rd August 2008 at the Science Museum, Wroughton (nr Swindon).

wroughton classic 2008Organiser Greg Dunningham said "We are delighted with the way this show is growing. We have managed to build it from a zero start to over 2000 classic vehicle exhibits and more than 23,000 visitors in just it's second year and we were thrilled to have been asked to host TV channel 4's Scrapheap Challenge as part of the 2007 show".

wroughton classic 2008"Our show is still relatively new and we are looking for ways to help it grow and appeal to a wider range of car & bike enthusiasts.

We have been amazed at the response and really pleased at the fantastic range of vehicles that have been brought along, from some that are extremely rare to novelty vehicles - wroughton classic 2008our motto is 'if you love it and want to show it, bring it along!'

This year we are really excited that we have been asked to host the Sodbury Sortout on the Sunday of the show and hope this will become a regular feature of the show".

"Based at the Science Museum in Wroughton, we have the space to expand and hope to use it to build greater awareness of this hugely underrated facility with its very own unique collection."

wroughton classic 2008The Old Sodbury Sortout is an extremely popular show, normally held at the Newbury showground but this year to be held within other shows, including Beaulieu and the Wroughton Classic.

The Sortout is particularly renowned for the range of 'hard to find' parts for Land Rovers, Commercial and Vintage Vehicles on offer and is well known and respected amongst all classic and vintage vehicle collectors.

Aiming for around 400 Autojumble and trade stalls and a record number of classic vehicles, this year's Wroughton Classic Car & Bike show is promising to be a monster.

wroughton classic 2008In addition to the club displays and a wide range of individual exhibits, there is also a large craft market, first class food, excellent bar (real cider and real ale!!), slot car racing, adult sized pedal cars, mini Landies, Quads, bungee jumping and so much more being booked every day.

With their special, limited ‘EARLY BIRD OFFER’ currently available through the show website, where else could you enjoy a family day out this summer from just £5 a vehicle (regardless of the number of occupants!)?

wroughton classic 2008This year the show will be supporting Macmillan Cancer Support and some of the clubs will be running different fundraising activities including 'What's under your bonnet?' and rides in classic police vehicles.

To help maximise their fundraising efforts, the organisers would love to hear from anyone who would like to volunteer some time to help at the show with traffic marshalling or fundraising.
