The baby animals are arriving at Roves Farm in time for Easter but some animals were here MILLIONS of years ago!!
Roves Farm is in the heart of dinosaur territory. In fact the first ever dinosaur was discovered about 15 miles away and the farm stands on a fossilized coral reef.
Children will be able to take part in a series of new interactive events such as excavating either a Tyrannosaurus Rex or a cast dinosaur egg or even fossil hunting.
“ It is going to be a fantastic Jurassic hands-on experience for children and adults” says Ricky Bailey, one of the farm’s regular staff. There will also be a dinosaur shop to buy all sorts of dino memorabilia.
To make the link between the Jurassic period of dinosaurs and the modern age, Roves Farm is also hosting medieval archery. Practised archers will be at Roves on Easter Sunday and Monday for children and adults to “have a go”. Farmer Rupert Burr says ”It is going to be an action packed Easter period, with dinosaurs, archery and an Easter Rabbit running riot around the fields – as well as all of our other usual activities”
The Visitor Centre is open from 10.30 to 5.00 daily during the Easter period and school holidays from March 19th to April 20th.
