On 4 July Swindon Central fire station (by the magic roundabout) is holding an open day between the hours of 1030 and 1600.
During the day the public will have the chance to meet firefighters, have a look at a variety of fire engines from yesteryear to the newest appliances in the county and our animal rescue unit. There will be drills at half past every hour, a bouncy castle, a paintball range, cake stall, food and drinks and a chance to get friends wet using a set of stocks. Blaze Bear will also be making an appearance. There will also be a Community safety stand offering fire safety advice.
Access will be via the Fleming Way gate by the traffic lights.
This open day is to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Station with any profits made going to the firefighters charity which supports firefighters and their families in times of need.
Unfortunately there will be no parking available.
