Summer Breeze Festival 2009 - Saturday 4 July
24/06/2009

After the success of Swindon's biggest music festival, Radio 1 Big Weekend, Swindon will now host another great music event.  Summer Breeze Festival 2009 is a small music festival to be held on Saturday 4 July at Warren Farm, Liddington just outside Swindon.

The day will see a mix of music of different genres from local up and coming bands to those who are just about to make it in the music industry. A fantastic mix of music for all the family.

The whole day will be dedicated to some fantastic music, including a touch of comedy from Folk/Rock duo John and Wayne, Dudlow Joe who are a fantastic 5 piece blues and boogie band from Bath, The Right Hooks with their laid back style and The Lacarno Beat with their 60’s covers which will guarantee to get you dancing and features top local musicans Pete Townsend, Mike York and Steve Goby. If Roots music is something you like then Wille and the Bandits, all the way from the west country, won’t disappoint you, followed by local stars Hip Route.

If you remember the 90’s rock band REEF then you’ll certainly recognise the next act which is the front man Gary Stringer and fellow band member Jack Beasant playing new unheard songs from their forthcoming acoustic album.

Local band Sweet Plums are next up playing their fantastic Folk Rock and if this isn’t enough for you then next is the mighty Beat Bullyz still hot from their fantastic performance at the Radio 1 Big Weekend and set to conquer the country.

How can it get any bettter? But it does. From there we go into Birmingham based Ska/Reggae band 360 a fantastic band hot footing it to us after performing at the Glastonbury Festival. They are a “live” band, bringing excitement to the stage and transmitting that to the audience, and are bound to get your feet moving. The evening will end with those good old favourites from local band Breeze.

To accompany all this fantastic music there will be a Real Ale Bar, a glorious selection of foods, circus/theatre entertaiment from Les Bicyclettes and festival stalls.

The idea of this charity concert comes from Dennis and Lorna Ford (band member of Breeze). After losing a close friend they were eager to raise funds for two local charities close to their heart and came up with the idea of a festival in their back garden. All proceeds from the event will go to Prospect Hospice and Motor Neurone Disease.
This year's event seems to have stepped up a gear with 13 acts playing throughout the day from noon till midnight
