North Swindon community association - 12 January

3rd January 2012 by Roger Ogle

The inaugural meeting of the North Swindon Communities’ Association will take place on Thursday 12 January, 7pm, at Oakhurst Primary School to give community representatives the chance to get together to share information and talk about the things that are important to the area.

Oakhurst resident and Haydon Wick Parish Councillor Steph Exell said: “The focus for NCSA is to build wider community spirit and support throughout north Swindon, and to ensure individual groups don’t have to keep reinventing the wheel.”

Both Blunsdon and Haydon Wick Parish Councils have subscribed to the new association, as well as numerous residents’ groups from the area.

“Representatives from Oakhurst, St Andrews Ridge, Rodbourne Cheney, Redhouse and Moredon have all expressed an interest in getting involved with the association,” said Steph. “It’s not about taking a political stance. We all accept that residents from different areas will have different views of things, but there is value in sharing points of view and forging links across the entire northern sector.”

Community representatives interested in taking part in the association should contact Steph Exell on 703276.
