With three days to go until the local elections, Swindon Borough Council have issued some key reminders.

The borough and Police and Crime Commissioner elections take place on Thursday 2 May.

Swindon Borogh Council advises:

Remember to bring photo ID: It’s crucial to have valid photo ID to vote on polling day. If you’re choosing to vote by proxy, your chosen person must bring their own photo ID. A full list of acceptable photo IDs can be found via #photoisvoting.

Voting by post: make sure that your postal vote reaches the council in time for polling day by using the pre-paid envelope provided to send your postal vote via Royal Mail.

Hand-delivering your postal vote: You must now complete a separate form if you choose to hand deliver your postal vote.

You can only hand deliver your postal vote to the reception desk at the Civic Offices in Euclid Street during office hours, or at your polling station on election day.

Without this form, your vote won’t count. You can only hand in a maximum of five postal ballot packs in addition to your own.

People can learn more about the candidates and find their polling station at #swindonboroughcouncilelections.
