Aldi North Swindon plan on display Monday 17 May

Aldi Stores are holding an informal public consultation event to canvas views on their proposal to build a third neighbourhood foodstore in Swindon on land at Latham Road, next to the David Lloyd tennis centre, off Thamesdown Drive.
But the new North Swindon MP Justin Tomlinson said he is concerned that many people are going to be excluded from commenting on the project at an early stage.
The exhibition will be held on Monday 17 May from 2pm to 6pm at Abbey Meads Community School.
Newly elected Member of Parliament for North Swindon Justin Tomlinson expressed concern to swindonlink.com that the consultation is being called at too short notice and will limit the opportunity for residents to comment on the proposals at an early stage. He said, “Whilst Aldi recognised the need to work in conjunction with local residents when I met them in April, I am disappointed at the short notice of the meeting.
"Every opportunity should be provided to local residents to raise questions, make suggestions and crucially shape the potential plans. It is essential Aldi listen and work with my fellow local residents.”

Aldi currently has 410 stores across Britain and focus on providing quality products at affordable prices. Swindon is already home to the company's regional distribution centre and head office at South Marston Business Park. It has recently invested in a £35 million extension to create a state of the art facility in excess of 560,000 sq ft.
