Norman Butler is nearing the start of a dream he's been working towards for nearly two years - racing 3,000 miles across the Atlantic in a rowing boat.

All the preparation, the training, the fundraising, plus building his own kit boat come to fruition for the Ward Evans Atlantic Challenge in Tenerife on 14 October. But 1 September is the last chance to see Norman's boat The Spirit of Swindon before it is transported to the start line.

He will be in Town Square at the West Swindon Centre between 10.30am and 11.30am where the Mayor of Swindon councillor David Cox will pop a bottle of champagne sponsored by The Link on the Spiri at 11am.
