Ofsted report highlights good education and effective management at North
Swindon primary school
Marilyn Brown with Mikhaila Stugess, Daniel Chew, Gemma Pock Just 18 months after Abbey Meads community primary school opened, inspectors from Ofsted have commended the work of teachers and pupils.Their report says that pupils make good progress in many areas of the curriculum and the high proportion of good teaching produces effective quality of learning for pupils. Children are well cared for and they are well motivated by an interesting and varied curriculum. The report commends headteacher Marilyn Brown for her effective leadership, and the very good links established with parents and the community. The report comments that although pupils make good progress and only the best work is expected of them, the standards attained by the time they leave could be improved. Mrs Brown said she was delighted with the first inspection of her school. "We are very proud of the report which acknowledges the good progress we have made in a very short period of time. All the staff have worked tirelessly towards the commitment to high standards for all, and to creating an exciting, stimulating and caring learning environment. We have laid good foundations for future growth and development." Also |
