New staff and good test results drive up quality at Hreod

Following a difficult few months after Hreod Parkway School failed its Ofsted inspection and was put into special measures, the school should be fully staffed when term starts in September and will be celebrating much improved year 9 SAT results.

Seventeen new teachers have been recruited, an expansion in staffing to cope with increased numbers of children. Headteacher Andrew Fleet said that school inspectors had commended the way the Ofsted Action Plan for future progress had been prepared, and he was pleased with the quality of the teachers appointed. "I am also very pleased that our year 9 Key Stage 3 SAT results will be our highest ever. When published, they will show a ten per cent improvement. These, with our expected GCSE results, will show Hreod has turned a corner."
