Twin Peaks team plan second London marathon moonwalk

Last May 103 women teamed up under the banner of Swindon Twin Peaks and walked a marathon though the streets of London to raise money for Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

There's a chance to find out how to join Twin Peaks 2 on Thursday 16 January. Organiser Eunice Salmon said that the publicity in Swindon's magazine The Link a year ago was largely responsible for the huge interest. "Our initial meeting was attended by over thirty women and numbers just kept on growing. The Swindon group was the largest from any town, raising over £30,000 sponsorship out of the £600,000 total. It really was fantastic."

This year some of the money raised will go the Bristol Cancer Help Centre, which is famous for its holistic approach to treatment.

"This is a great way to get yourself fit and have fun at the same time," said Eunice. "The Swindon Lifestyle Unit will be providing professional advice and organising training sessions. Here's a chance to take charge of your health.

"Come along on 16 January to the large meeting room at Link Centre at 7.30pm, see the photos and talk to last year's walkers." If you can't make the meeting call 871606.
