Contended cows on show at organic farm
Well known Swindon farmer Helen Browning opens Eastbrook Farm at Bishopstone, to the east of the town, to the public on Saturday 23 September, 11am - 3pm. She and her staff will conduct tractor and trailer tours around the 1,300 acres below the Ridgeway to view the organic crops and see animals contendly munching in the pastures. Cows, pigs, sheep and poultry are reared in humane conditions and fed only organic foodstuff. She will show off the state of the art buildings where livestock are kept in winter. With so much concern about the quality of food available in shops and animal welfare, this is an opportunity to visit one the country's leading organic farms. There's also a chance to discover the different taste of organically reared meat at a barbecue lunch in the farmhouse garden. If you cannot visit Eastbrook Farm in person, go to www.helenbrowningorganics.co.uk |
