'Swindon community re-paint', operated by Swindon Contractors and Swindon Scrapstore, recently picked up its 1000th tin of paint.

A volunteer sorts part used cans of paint left at the Barnfield Road dump and makes it available to community groups, like Brownies, playgroups and conservation bodies.

Emulsion, gloss, satin, eggshell, undercoat, primer and exterior paint is welcomed, but solidified and paint over ten years old or not in its original container is not. Paint stripper, thinners, wood preservatives and stains, varnishes and spray paints cannot be used.
