Baring all for Wonderbra overnight marathon
Some 100 women from Swindon who have given themselves the name 'Swindon Twin Peak' plan to walk the streets of London in the early hours of Sunday 14 May, wearing Playtex Wonderbras, decorated in aid of Breakthrough cancer research. Last year's walk attracted six hundred women including Eunice who was so inspired that she has agreed to coordinate a team from Swindon. Over 5,000 women and some men from across Britain are expected to take part this year. The event starts with an evening pasta party and the walk along a fully marshalled route through London commences at midnight. "It really is a fantastic night," says Eunice. "Women are encouraged to decorate their Wonderbras which are provided as part of the entry pack, along with a space blanket, woolly hat and long sleeved gloves to keep you warm. You don't have to strip off; you can walk in a T-shirt which means anybody can take part." She said 25 miles is a long way and the Swindon Twin Peaks team have been putting their best feet forward in preparation since early March. They hope to raise up to £10,000. She added that Twin Peaks has become a huge social group with women making friends who intend to stay together raising money for good causes in the future. |
