Work has started on the 99th pub for Arkell's brewery which will open at the new St Andrews Ridge village centre later in the year, next to a convenience store and nursery.

Costing nearly £s900,000, the interior design will take account of different needs. Managing Director, James Arkell says, "although the brewery is primarily concerned with offering residents a cosy, local atmosphere, we will also be looking for substantial lunchtime trade from companies in the area."

Mr Arkell is offering a bottle of champagne to whoever comes up with the chosen name. Suggestions should be sent to James Arkell at Arkell's Brewery, Kingsdown, Swindon, SN2 7RU by Monday 8 May.
