It's all music at the Wyvern
There are three great shows coming up at the Wyvern Theatre, before Jacinta Stapleton and the cast of Snow White take centre stage for the Millennium pantomime. On 11 November Chas 'n' Dave will be playing Swindon on their twenty-fifth anniversary tour, bringing their classic hits like 'Rabbit' and 'London Girls'. Their recordings are the staple diet of parties. Now you can join in with them live. The Barron Knights are also celebrating their long term love of pop music and a good joke. They've been together for forty years and Swindon on 26 November is one of the gigs in a world tour that takes in Singapore, Hong Kong and New Zealand. They are followed on 30 November by T-Rextasy, the only official tribute band to the ultimate 70s superstar. Abba Gold arrive on 5 December to celebrate the best of Swedish pop, but on 1 December, the Wyvern sees the return of the hit show Freak Out! fronted by confused rock legend and 70s fashion guru Mike Fab-Gere. His ten member Permissive Society band plays hits by the Beatles, the Stones, Kinks, Doors, Monkees and many more. He'll be joined by David Bowie look-alike John Mainwaring. This is a great chance to get into the Christmas season. Strut your stuff to the Wyvern box office or call 524481 for time and prices, and to book tickets. COMPETITION Boogie on down to the Wyvern We have two pairs of tickets for Freak Out! for you to win in a great competition. Tell us how many members are in Mike Fab-Gere's band, The Permissive Society, and you could win a pair, plus a CD and a rare signed photo. E-mail us by 15 November. |
