We're keeping our friendly family atmosphere...
is the vow from Toothill's doctor Peter Swinyard. And patients are intent on helping to maintain it. Several hundred turned up to an open day on 20 November to meet the staff and tour the facilities. "We're very pleased with the design and finish of the new building, and our patients compli-mented us on what has been achieved." said Dr Swinyard. "I always envisaged a permanent building one day, but never thought we would move into such a nice one in which to offer a high quality service to the people of Toothill." The surgery features two consulting rooms with potential for a third, and treatment rooms. In the waiting area is a custom built solid wood receptionists' desk donated by patient Natta Baker in memory of her husband Les. "The open day was almost overwhelming, not only by the numbers of people who came along, but also in terms of the supportive comments," said Dr Swinyard. "There was a lot of good will towards us." Toothill scouts and cubs helped surround the new surgery with coppers. A sweepstake to guess the number, donations and raffles raised £600 which will be spent on curtains for the surgery and a new sofa for the waiting room The Phoenix practice opened in a house opposite Toothill village centre in 1995 with 1,500 patients. It now has over 4,200. To contact the surgery, telephone (01793) 600440. |
