Swindon Live Well, Knit Well volunteers donated over 20 blankets last month to a homeless charity.

The Live Well, Knit Well volunteers have been knitting and crocheting their socks off, and as a result of their hardwork they have donated over 20 blankets to The Haven (Swindon Night Shelter) this March.

A spokesperson for Swindon Borough Council said: "We want to say a big thank you to our volunteer Cathy, who has been helping to create more blankets to be donated, by sewing knitted squares together."

If you would like to get involved please email the team at: [email protected]

The council will be holding a volunteer drop in event at The Ellendune Community Centre in Wroughton on Friday, 3 May from 8.45am to 11.30am.

A spokesperson said: "Please note that when creating clothes and accessories for small children or blankets for families with young children, please use a close-stitch knitting pattern.

"We're mindful that little fingers and toes could get tangled up in loose knitting patterns."
